London Open
House Walk
Every year, some of London's most exclusive buildings open up to the
public for just one weekend: London Open House. More than 50 enthusiastic
Euronet members decided to join a specially designed tour of selected
places:
- Westminster Hall (Houses of Parliament)
- Portcullis House (offices of parliamentarians)
- Jewel Tower, the ‘King’s Privy Wardrobe’
- Royal Courts of Justice, an introduction to the British justice system
- City Hall, the new office of London's mayor Ken Livingstone
The most desired building, the Swiss Re tower, better known as the 'gherkin',
had unbelievably long queues. Some die-hard members came back the next
day, queued for 5 hours (see last picture below), got in and enjoyed
the breathtaking views and architecture.
We can't wait for our Open House Tour 2005!
